I started editing for a niche gaming blog in 2014. As readership and interest grew, I realized that I quite enjoyed reading through the posts and articles of our staff writers, cleaning up their writing so that it presented the best version of their ideas. I learned that while many had ideas worth sharing, I had a knack for turning a valuable yet messy post into a clear and engaging one. I’ve always thought of myself as a puzzle-solver, and editing allowed me to engage this trait in a way I hadn’t imagined.
In March of 2017, I decided to try editing professionally. Two novel projects later, I committed to editing as a full-time career; after years of searching for my unique talent, I had finally found it.
Since returning to my hometown of Edmonton, Alberta, I’ve been pleased to learn there’s a strong community of local authors. My primary motivation as an editor is to help independent writers share their stories with as large an audience as possible.
I read often, both for pleasure and to hone my sense for the English language. My primary literary interests are novels (contemporary fiction, surrealism, fantasy, sci-fi, and horror), popular science and technology articles, and hobby blogs. Favourite authors include Haruki Murakami, Douglas Adams, Neil Gaiman, and Grant Morrison.
